IESA recognizes the dedication of its employees and professors
In an ambience inspired by the Chinese New Year, the handing out of buttons took place last Friday January 31st. at the Völlmer auditorium, an event that showed that the spirit of collaboration and fraternity at IESA continues to be intact with the passing years.
This time, twenty-six members of the IESA community, including employees and professors, received honorary buttons for their 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 years of service respectively.
Additionally, IESA's Academic Council unanimously decided to promote professors José Manuel Puente, Michael Penfold and Carlos Jaramillo (who is also the director of key accounts) to the position of tenured professors, due to their longstanding trajectories and outstanding performance at IESA. The designation of the professors was announced by Professor Rosa Amelia González, IESA's Academic Dean.
The event was emceed by Valentina Urdaneta, Communications Manager, and María Fernanda Padrón, Managerial Marketing Development Manager, who also composed songs and sang in the choir of the group of employees who offered the musical backdrop for the event. Giving the act a personal touch, the ensemble comprising Professor Ernesto Blanco (guitar and arrangements), Luis Tovar (four), César Angulo (soloist), Virgilio Armas (percussion and chorus) and Jonay Martínez (electric guitar), interpreted original songs dedicated to each one of the persons honored.
The act concluded with a speech by Gustavo Roosen, president of IESA, who manifested that he has attended events all his professional life, but none as original and heartfelt as this one. “The expressiveness of this act synthesizes the effort of this group of work companions who are part of the IESA family and this beautiful homage made to each and every colleague is a demonstration that where there is a will there is a way. I sincerely congratulate you for being part of IESA, which shall be a very important key player in the development this nation needs, requires and deserves”, he expressed.
